Often associated with luxury and fine craftspersonship, pashmina is considered to be one of finest woollen fabrics in the world. Designers and karigars describe pashmina as butter-like soft and light-weight fabric – a symbol of timelessness, meticulous craftspersonship and cultural heritage
Our commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in our corporate philosophy.
We carefully choose eco-friendly materials for our creations, implement ethical production for every piece we make, and strive to support talented artisans whose skills are essential to India’s cultural heritage
Our approach to sustainability rests on these fundamental pillars, reflecting our responsibility to the planet, our commitment to quality and our desire to preserve India’s precious craft traditions.
Each of our products embodies this vision, creating a sustainable and authentic experience for our customers.
The wool is collected during the molting season when the goats naturally shed their winter coats. However, due to the harsh climate and limited availability of the Changthangi goats, the production of Pashmina wool is relatively low, making it a rare and precious commodity.
Global production adds time and cost while reducing traceability and transparency, increasing the risk of unsafe and unethical working conditions, and reducing sustainability.
At The Pashm-e-Kalamkar, all our products are made in our workshops in India, where every step, from raw cashmere wool processing to yarn creation to final production, is carried out in-house.
